January 15, 2014 – With arrival of the holiday season, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) focused on increasing DUI awareness and have made a significant number of DUI arrests during that time. Trusted Orange County DUI attorney Kellee Parker of Parker Law Center is seeking to aid arrestees by offering dedicated legal services in their defense.
Due to the high number of celebrations that take place over the holiday season, alcohol consumption increases, and consequently, so does the number of people who choose to drive while intoxicated. Likewise, an increase in the number of alcohol-related traffic crashes and highway deaths occur during this time as compared to other times of the year.
To curb this increase in alcohol-induced accidents, NHTSA conceived its holiday DUI awareness campaign. With slogans like “Buzzed Driving is Drunk Driving” and “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over,” the agency aggressively promoted the campaign in order to dissuade individuals from even attempting to drink and drive. During the campaign, increased patrols were mandated and regular checkpoints were deployed to apprehend those who chose not to heed the warnings. The government’s efforts subsequently resulted in a higher number of DUI arrests.
Because of these arrests, there is now an increased need for reliable DUI representation. Luckily, renowned Orange County DUI defense lawyer Kellee Parker is here to help individuals and families who have been affected by the spike in DUI arrests during the holiday season.
To those arrested during the NHTSA campaign, Attorney Parker advises hiring a DUI attorney quickly. With just 10 days from the date of arrest to request a hearing, time is of the essence if arrestees hope to retain their driving privileges.
Attorney Parker notes that an aggressive DUI attorney will fight to protect the defendant’s rights and try to negotiate the best possible outcome. Should the case result in a plea agreement then the skilled DUI attorney can help minimize the harsh consequences of a conviction. In the case of a conviction, following successful completion of probation the attorney will be able to help petition for an expungement of the case so that the defendant does not return to a life where an unfortunate mistake hinders his/her ability to contribute to the community.
